What to Expect at Your Exam Visit
Once a woman begins having sex or reaches the age of 18, she should have regular pelvic exams. The exam entails a clinician checking the reproductive organs. A pelvic exam is done to:
- Check the health of the reproductive organs
- Prescribe birth control
- Check for vaginal infections or sexually transmitted diseases
- Determine pregnancy or miscarriage
- Screen for cervical cancer, which can be treated and cured if found early.

What is the Cost?
Family Planning is not a free clinic. Cost is based on household income and the number of people supported by that income. Income is on a sliding scale fee. Payment plans can be arranged if needed. Medicaid, Insurance and Every Woman Matters are accepted.
