Young Moms And Children 

The Y-MAC program is devoted to helping teen mothers and young women (both pregnant and parenting ages 14-23) by offering classes and one on one mentoring to improve the quality of their lives.  This program is free of charge and offered to young moms in Fremont and surrounding communities. We offer resources, opportunities for personal development, and on-going support.  Our goal is to empower our participants to accomplish above and beyond what they can imagine.  We believe that through education, support, information and resources, young women will make healthy decisions and contribute to a better society.

Through Y-MAC young women will:

• Receive referral information to community agencies
• Learn life skills such as parenting, budgeting and more
• Develop relationships with other young moms
• Positive support and encouragement
• Receive maternal necessities (such as diapers, shampoos, lotions, blankets and more )

Program Overview:

The program provides support to young moms by connecting young ladies with peer education during classes, meetings, events and introductions to new resources.

Y-MAC is committed to empowering young moms to finish high school, enroll in college or job training, prevent recurring pregnancies; become nurturing parents, live self-sufficient healthy lifestyles and develop into positive members of their community.

Goals:

The  ultimate goal of Y-MAC is to inspire young mothers to achieve their goals by equipping them with the resources, knowledge & skills needed to function effectively in their daily lives.

We will support, encourage, and nurture our young moms so they may grow to be confident mothers and positive community role models.  With these goals in mind we hope to work together to impact the lives of the young women and children in our communities.

Get Involved!

Health/Education - Teach classes/events covering some of the following topics: baby care, breast feeding, labor & delivery, parenting, healthyrelationships, nutrition, self-esteem, budgeting, career info, etc.

Food Preparation - Prepare and donate a healthy meal for classes.
